Speaker: Joe Ryan, System Director at Lee Health Coconut Point

Joe Ryan serves as the System Director at Lee Health Coconut Point, a comprehensive outpatient medical health and wellness facility in Estero, Florida. His journey into healthcare was inspired by personal experiences with sports-related injuries, leading him to a career in physical therapy. This background fuels his commitment to patient recovery and his leadership in healthcare services. Ryan holds a degree in Exercise Physiology from Florida State University, a doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Florida, and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of West Florida.

Under Ryan’s direction, Lee Health Coconut Point has expanded its services, enhancing patient care in the region, including LHCP becoming the first hospital-owned outpatient surgery center to offer robotic surgery, and becoming one of the first facilities in Florida to successfully complete same-day hysterectomy surgery. He emphasizes the importance of his role in enabling clinicians and patients to engage in meaningful healthcare interactions, aiming to inspire and motivate others even during challenging times.

Beyond his professional responsibilities, Ryan is actively involved in the community. He currently serves as Chair of the Greater Estero Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and contributes to several committees. His leadership extends to initiatives like the Lee Health Habitat for Humanity program, where he organized volunteers to assist a fellow employee in building a home.

In recognition of his contributions, in 2024 Ryan was honored as one of Gulfshore Business’s 40 Under 40, highlighting young leaders making a significant impact in their fields.

Ryan’s dedication to healthcare and community service underscores his commitment to improving patient outcomes and fostering community well-being in Southwest Florida.
